Walking around Chicago

My co-worker Mike and I had some training in Chicago. It was a small class — no evening itinerary — so after catching up on anything from work, we had time to walk about.

We made a loop from our hotel near Willis Tower down to Michicagan Avenue and the water then back up along the river.

Since we were staying next to Willis Tower, we had take the ride up to the observation deck.

I didn't think the glass box would be freaky but my brain decided otherwise.

I enjoyed walking around at night.

I assume this is what all the mirrors are for.

The only museum open later than 5:00 was the Art Institute on Thursday. So we walked over.

There were some skateboarders with lights under their boards. In the minute it took to set the camera on a bench for a long exposure, they were gone. A small purple streak on the right is the last of them.

The pub attached to our hotel was a favorite hang-out. We recommend the Speckled Hen.

Direct flight plus airplane internet made an easy trip home. I think I'll miss the downtown foot commute. Moving with a throng of people was enjoyable in a way.
